My name is Jae Sung Lee. I am Korean.

South Korean to be exact and I dont really understand why people would ask me if I am north also. North Korean lives under poverty and South Korea lives under a very advanced society. My name Jae means to exist and Sung means make someone happy. Therefore my name means I exist to make people happy. There are many meanings to Jae and sung because those are Chinese meanings. I dont really know how those correlate together but it does somehow in the Korean culture. My culture is Korean and as much as I hate being Korean, I still am proud that I was born as a Korean. My name reflects my culture and heritage because thats my Korean name. I use Jason as soon as I entered college. It wasnt because I was ashamed or anything but it was just to make people remember what my name was. Having a Korean name is really fun because it feels like I have two identities, an American identity and a Korean identity. My family and high school friends call me Jae Sung but I made like 3 friends and they call me Jason.
