Iugulare mortuous There's not much she can remember, least of all about the beginning. Sounds, sensations.

Here and there the odd visual input. By far not enough to put together a memory. Most of what she knows comes from hijacked video feed. It feels more like watching a movie. A five year long movie. Of the horror genre. The first months it's all about reconvalescense. The scenery is dull. The conscious moments are sketchy. Memories consist mainly of pain, agony and all the stages of discomfort inbetween. A rhythmic beeping accompanies her throughout it all. It is soothing, but blurs her senses at the same time. People come and go, like the seasons that pass. One scene is retrievable from her mind and correlates well with the surveillence tapes she will watch years later. She is in a hospital room. Machines work around her, supporting her damaged body. She is coherent, the first time long enough for them to tell her what happened. The doctor is a young blonde, shoulder length hair, reminding her of Rebecca Chambers: far too young to be where she was. ...substantial damage to the spleen, numerous fractures collarbone, shoulder, arm, ribs -
