A presentation by James Vigni and AnneMarie Dames

When a camera films someone in a video, in a way that makes it seem as if we are secretly looking at them The representation can often be sexual, but doesnt necessarily have to be The artist sometimes chooses to be shown in a sexual manner to help sell a product and create audience interest The person being watched is often unaware it

Towards the end of the video the camera looks at the dancers from a voyeuristic point of view making the viewer feel as if theyre secretly watching them dance. It is clear that theyre trying to create this effect due to the fact that the dancers dont seem to be aware of our presence or that of the camera.

During the music video to Robin Thickes Blurred Lines there are many close ups of the womens faces. This implies that they are being represented in a sexual way as the facial expressions they make are provocative The red lipstick accentuates the womans lips, which are considered to be a sensual part of a womans body.

This scene could be one of the many examples of Voyeurism in this music video, because of the positioning of the camera and the fact that they seem to be unaware of its presence.

The iconography of this particular scene is very voyeuristic as the position she is in is very sexual. The costume is very tight fitting and accentuates her body.
