Design Influence

European Contemporary Graphic Design has influenced his design. Layers of graphicsgeometric shapes and lines, and photos are reminiscent of poster designs or editorial designs in Europe these days. The placement of each graphic seems to be influenced by Modernism, Surrealism or Japanese traditional art. There is not a vanishing point for the illusion of three-dimensional space.

BREAKDOWN Animation Influence

I assume the motion in nature influences the method of animation the artist chooses. There are some elements that represent nature, such as a tree branch or cloud-like texture. In the aspect of animation, there are elements of nature such as motion of wind, water wave and raindrop. For transition, he changes background color. For some parts, he might have used generate effects such as gradient ramp and have a shape or pattern he wants on top as a mask. The fluid transition of geometric objects or lines dominates the piece. In my opinion, the trend in flat, simple animation influences his animation style. For instance, little elements that animate can be found in 2D animation for advertising

How was it made? After Effects? 3D Software? What do you like about this piece?

After Effects, Cinema 4D, Photoshop, Illustrator

I like it for its atmosphere, style and sync with music. According to Ryo Kitabatake, this project is a triptych to show his personality and him as a designer. As his logo is made out of three letters from his name, the work has three different parts, which refer to each letter. Three parts are different in style, however they still look united as a whole piece. Another aspect of this piece that I like is that it has a feeling of collage work. Except for a few elements, the work is a flat, 2D animation, yet has layers of different graphics. I like how each layer of works well together and makes the work more interesting. Lastly, I appreciate the smooth animation that synced with music.
