The History of the Finnish Language

Background Linguistics 1. Finnish is a Finno-Ugric language, part of a large language family that includes languages such as Hungarian and Estonian. It has around five million native speakers. 2. The Finnish language has two main regional dialects (murre); one is the Eastern dialect and the other one is the Western dialect.
