2. Look over your list and formulate an overall statement that reflect your total character. Using the characters name in a sentence write this idea in a complete sentence. This is the topic sentence for your paper. Example: Through Langston Hughes description of Roger, readers can determine Roger is a young, African American boy who is alone in the world. 3. Find 3 major ideas in the chart that will back up your idea. 4. Write a paragraph with a topic sentence, three supporting details, and a concluding sentence.
