Applicants must have at least a 2.75 undergraduate GPA to be accepted to the Graduate School. Depending on the justifications for admission presented by the Graduate Program Director, exceptions can be made and the applicant may be accepted as a regular or provisional student. Grade point averages are computed at the end of each semester for departments to utilize in accessing if students are making satisfactory progress. If a students semester average falls below 2.8, the program should determine if probation is warranted. Grade point averages are stored on Spire in the Term History panels under Term Statistics and Cumulative Statistics. SATisfactory, Pass, WP, WF, Drop and INC grades are not computed into the grade point average. Undergraduate level courses are not calculated into the GPA on the graduate transcript. The averages are recorded on the student transcript but cannot be disclosed except as outlined under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. The minimum grade point average for graduation in the courses being applied toward a masters or doctoral degree is 3.00. Grades lower than C cannot be counted towards graduation. Exceptions are not made to the minimum graduation average required for graduation from the Graduate School.
