ACCESS Program Behavior Expectations/Agreement 2013-14 Welcome to the ACCESS Program at the Texas School for the Deaf.

We are glad you are here! The ACCESS Program provides high quality instruction and support for young deaf and hard of hearing adults who need additional training with employment and independent living skills. One of the many reasons why our program is successful is that we have high expectations for our students. As a young adult, you are expected to conduct yourself in a professional and respectful manner both on and off campus at all times. Remember, you represent our ACCESS Program! Your attitude and behavior are a reflection of our program. ACCESS students will adhere to the following program expectations: Conduct yourselves as adults, using manners and courtesies towards staff and peers. This includes using respectful language. Show motivation towards obtaining and maintaining a job (paid or non-paid). Refrain from interacting with other TSD students not in the ACCESS program, with the exception of TSD sponsored activities (e.g. athletic events, performances, etc.).

ACCESS Students will strictly adhere to the TSD Student Code of Conduct. Non-Compliance: ACCESS Students who do not follow the TSD Code of Conduct or the additional program rules described above may be subject to additional consequences that may not be specified in the TSD Code of Conduct. As an adult who has graduated high school, consequences in the ACCESS Program for behavior problems may be considered more severe. Depending upon the infraction, students may receive a warning, community service, out-ofschool suspension, or removal from the program. These consequences depending on their severity may be addressed in an ARD/IEP meeting. Please be aware that In-school suspension and DAEP (Disciplinary Alternative Education Program) are not part of our ACCESS Program. _______________________________________________________________________ I have carefully reviewed this agreement with my ACCESS Teacher and understand that I must follow the TSD Code of Conduct and Program Expectations described above. If I do not follow these guidelines, I may receive a warning, community service, suspension, or dismissal from the program.
