Dear Sir / Madam, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself; my name is Freddy Pett, a young, exciting and talented British Motorcycle racer who is in need of your help. To enable myself to compete in the 2010 national Triumph Triple Challenge Championship, I am in urgent need of personal sponsorship backing, the true cost of competing in this championship for the year being 20,000. Motorcycle racing is an expensive affair; I could not hope to finance my career solely by myself, therefore if you could kindly take this opportunity to read the enclosed portfolio and maybe help in someway. Any help is greatly appreciated whether this is financial support, product support or just your encouragement and enthusiasm. The enclosed portfolio outlines my profile and career to date. It clearly shows my potential within motorcycle racing given the right opportunity and machinery. I have also included an information pack on the Triumph Triple Challenge which contains details on the series and what it plans to offer teams and riders in 2010. Being involved with my racing can offer you a perfect way to enhance the profile of your business. I can offer bespoke advertising opportunities ranging from branding on team clothing, branding on rider leathers, branding on the race transporter, advertising on the website and most importantly the race machine its self, the prestige of team sponsor, a personal sponsor or perhaps as a team partner, providing vital support needed to win. Add to this the fact that I will be competing in the lime light of the British Superbike series which has live TV coverage guaranteed for my races and has a huge following of spectators and fans being present either at the meetings or at home watching on the TV. You will also get recognition in every piece of media that I appear in (newspaper, websites, and televised and written interviews). The race meetings could be a fantastic place for you to entertain your customers, employees or partners. They offer the opportunity to witness some of the most action-packed and thrilling racing in the country. You can take advantage of the championships hospitality facilities present at each round and make a full weekend of the event. As a personal sponsor, I will be able to provide you with unlimited tickets to attend every race meeting of the year which will allow you to get close to the action and the team will keep you and your party topped up with food and refreshments as well as being able to provide useful information about the circuit, the bike and the rider. You can guarantee that your requirements will be met with a flexible friendly approach. Maximising your budget to ensure exceptional value that delivers maximum results. Any help you can give to help me raise the required amount would be most appreciated and I can be contacted through the details at the top for any further information that may be required. I welcome the chance to meet to discuss details, the possibilities, the finer details and also to answer any queries you may have. Many thanks in anticipation Freddy Pett

History:
Freddy first started racing at the age of 9 when he entered his first kart race. He competed in a local grass and road Karting championships where he managed to achieve the following: East of England Grass Karting 70cc Champion 2003 Coningsby East Kirby Road winter 70cc Champion 2003/ 2004 Wisbech and District Grass Karting 70cc Champion 2004 Coningsby Grass Kart Club 70cc Champion 2004 Coningsby East Kirby Road winter 70cc Champion 2003/ 2004 East of England Grass Karting 70cc Champion 2004 Wisbech and District Grass Karting 100cc Champion 2005 East of England Grass Karting 100cc Champion 2005 At the age of 15, he decided to turn his passion into 2 wheel racing. Over the course of the 2005 winter and 2006 season he competed in the SEMRC Mini Moto Championships riding a Blata Elite 4.2 and later a ZPF 8.5 Production bike. He enjoyed riding these little bikes and learnt a lot about riding on 2 wheels instead of 4. However he soon out grew the little mini bikes and wanted to try his hand at something bigger. The start of 2007, Freddy purchased a Jawa Rs Gp70cc race bike. He raced this bike in a mixture of Low Capacity Road Race Club meetings and completed several track days at some of the countries larger karting tracks. He used the little Gp bike to obtain his ACU licence at Darley Moor, but more importantly learn how bigger tracks and paddocks function.

After out growing the tiny GP70 bike, it was time for him to step up to something bigger and better. He decided to race Formula 400s using an Aprilia Rs250 250cc two stroke that he purchased in August 2007. After completing 2 track days at Donington Park, he entered his first Road Race at Darley Moor aged 16 where he finished the meeting as best New Comer in his class. He later went on to finish off the 2007 season competing in the Stars at Darley Moor meeting and doing several track days.

2008
Freddy competed in the Derby Phoenix F400/F250 Championship. Derby Phoenix is one of the largest club racing championship in the UK. It has over 250 entrants at each meeting and hundreds of devoted fans coming to watch and cheer on their favourite riders. The championship provides some fantastic entertainment and enjoys coverage through a commentary team at the meeting and features in the Bike Sport News newspaper after each meeting. The F400.F250 class was considered to be one of the most tightly contested of the 2008 season with full grids at all meetings. It is open to any road production 400cc four stroke motorcycles or any road production 250cc two stroke motorcycles The championship went to all the major UK circuits and had 16 days of racing on the calendar. Freddy turned up to the first race at Brands as a novice not wanting to get in anyones way. 2008 was competed on a very small budget as he is studying for his A Levels, and with his income being low we expected the season to be a struggle with results that could only match his budget, However this wasnt to be the case, ever since the first round Freddy has been impressive in his first full debut season as a novice. He has managed to win every novice race that he has finished and has been on the Formula 250 podium at every meeting apart from one. Over the course of the year he has managed to make a positive name for him self within the paddock thanks to his fantastic results achieved on a 250 2 stroke against the faster and more powerful 400s. A crowd pleasing riding style and the amount of corner speed that he carries has help him be impressive on an under powered bike. He has even managed to win races in the open 400 class which is contested by Gp250 bikes with around 25bhp more than his Aprilia. Freddys performance early on in the season helped attract his main sponsor Grip N Rip Ltd who has since been helping supply him with tyres and consumables. The year saw him improve at each meeting and gain recognition with the series commentator and feature regularly in the local newspaper and occasionally the BSN. He finished the season on a high at Cadwell Park where he fought through a strong field to achieve four 2nds in F250 and two 4ths in F400 on the final race day of the year and came to within 1 second of breaking the Derby Phoenix Formula 400 lap record at Cadwell. He also got the prestigious rider of the meeting award.

Freddys fast natural ability to learn new tracks and his determination and hard work on and off the bike paid off in 2008 as he has achieved the following: F400 Novice champion F250 Runner up Champion F400 Top 5 overall

I am delighted at how this season has turned out. I started the year hoping to finish inside the top 10 in each championship. So to achieve the results I have in this highly competitive series has been a great achievement after an injury mid season looked like it may cost me dearly. I would like to thank all my sponsors for their help and support this year as without them this season wouldnt have been possible. Big thanks go to Paddy at Grip N Rip, the boys at C&A Superbikes and to my Mum and Dad for all their support The table below shows the results of the 2008 Season:

2009
The plan for the 2009 season was to carry on racing the Aprilia in the Derby Phoenix F400 Championship with the aim of improving on last years results by trying to win the overall championship. At the start of the season Freddy knew it was going to be a tough as although he had spent all winter making big improvements to his 250cc two stroke Aprilia Rs250, A lot of highly tuned 400cc four strokes had entered the championship which all had on average 20bhp more than the 62bhp Aprilia. The average grid size at each meeting has been around 30 riders so the competition was very tough. However throughout the season Freddy rode his heart out and relied on his riding abilities to achieve some fantastic results on a bike that is way down on power compared to the competitors. The ability to carry immense corner speed kept Freddy at the front of the championship. At the start of the year Freddy managed to secure a new sponsor, Photobikes who is photographer who comes along to all the meetings and donates the money he makes selling pictures of the racing at the meetings to the team which we are all highly grateful off. Here is an overview of the season in Freddys words. NEMRC Round at Croft I entered this race meeting to use it as practice before the Derby Phoenix Season started. Having never raced with the club before, I turned up on the Saturday and qualified on pole and comfortable won both F400 races and set fastest laps in each. Round 1- Croft F250 1st Place fastest lap Race 1- F400 1st place Race 2- 1st lap crash due to pushing the front too much to try and build a gap before the straight if not the quicker 400s chasing me would fly past. Race 3- F400 6th F250 3rd from last on the grid th nd F250 2 New F250 circuit record around croft. Race 4- F400 4 Round 2- Cadwell Park Race 1- crashed on lap 6 after working my way up to 3rd place but got frustrated when the 400s I kept passing in the corners, kept overtaking me again down the next straight. Made a mistake and crashed when I ran wide out of the mountain chicane and highsided on the grass. F250 3rd from back of the grid Race 2- F400 7th Race 3- F400 6th F250 2nd F250 1st Won by 30seconds in a wet race which meant that the 400s could no longer Race 4- F400 1st use their power advantage so came down to rider talent... Round 3- Anglesey International- Left this meeting leading the f250 championship and second in the f400 championship! Race 1- F400 3rd Race 2- F400 3rd Race 3- F400 4th Race 4- F400 6th Round 4- Oulton Park Race 1- F400 6th F250 3rd st Dropped from 1 position when gearbox problems started and had to nurse the bike home to 6th. F250 1st F250 1st F250 1st F250 1st

New F250 circuit record around Anglesey

Race 2- Did not start due to an unfixable broken gearbox from the first race. After a mixed start to the season, it was clear for all to see that Freddy was one of the quickest and most talented riders out there on the F400 grid. Even 2 crashes in the opening two rounds did not stop Freddy from fighting back at Anglesey to reposition himself 2nd in the F400 standings and leading the F250 standings quite comfortable. However the Oulton Park round did not go to plan when machine problems effectively ended the meeting and Freddys championship campaign. It was a shame that machine problems hit mid season as Freddy was looking strong to challenge for both championships. However because he was no longer going to be racing the 250 at the last 3 rounds, this opened up some doors for Freddy to try his hand in the next class up. For the final 3 rounds, I was lent a Honda CBR600RR to ride in the Formula 600 class. This is the class that I want to progress to full time after a growing number of spectators and riders keep telling me that although Im one of the best riders in the F400 class, the bike is holding me back and I will be much suited to a 600 due to my height and riding abilities. Having never ridden a 4 stroke bike before, let alone one with twice the power of my 250, this is how I managed to fair in the final 3 rounds: Round 5- Cadwell Park Race 1- 10th Race 2- 10th Race 3- 8th Race 4- 7th It was a mega week managing to achieve top 10 finishes in all my races first time out on a completely new bike to me. Consistently getting quicker and quicker. Results are even more impressive when you consider I had to start back of the grid because I was new to this class. Round 6- Anglesey costal circuit Race 1- Crashed out of 4th place on the first lap Race 2- 5th from back of the grid whilst having to regain my confidence each lap Bit of a disappointing weekend in terms of outright results. But if it wasnt for the crash, I had proved to myself that I am capable of running near the front of this class and made a big improvement in bike set up and riding style since my first outing on the bike Final round of the year Cadwell Park Race 1- 3rd Race 2- 3rd Race 3- 1st Race 4- 2nd Scratch race for 600cc to 1000cc bikes- 1st Amazing weekend. Manage to show that I can win on a 600, finishing on the podium in every race and winning 2 races including a race against mainly 1000cc machines. Came away from the meeting as the overall formula 600 winner with the highest points and thanks to these results on only my third time on a 600, I earnt myself rider of the meeting award. My best lap time was quick enough to easily qualify me for the national superstock 600 series at British Superbikes even though I was riding a bike that is older and slower than those used at national level! It would have also been quick enough to place be in the top two positions when the Triumph Triple Challenge competed at Cadwell earlier in the year.

Here is a copy of the brief write up for final round of the year that was feature in the local newspaper: Cadwell Park Winner! Young West Norfolk motorcycle racer, Freddy Pett (18) from Watlington competed in his final race meeting of the Derby Phoenix Motorcycle Club Championship at Cadwell Park, Lincs. on the 19th/20th September and he ended the season in style by winning the overall Formula 600 class on board a borrowed Honda CBR600RR5! Freddy went into this meeting with very limited experience at racing 4 stroke machinery having started the year racing a two stroke 250cc Aprilia. However he showed his talent by starting off the weekend with two hard fought 3rd places in the Formula 600 class, the first of which he had to fight for from a back of the grid starting position. Saturday evening then saw Freddy enter into a scratch race against mainly 1000cc machinery to try and gain some more track time on the bike, to the surprise of all the competitors, spectators and officials, Freddy dominated the race leading from start to finish with a winning margin of over 3seconds! Freddy carried on his winning ways to win the first F600 race on Sunday after a race long dual with experienced Yamaha 600 racer Shane Colbrook. Despite his Honda lacking power against the newer bikes he was competing against, Freddy managed to make some hard passes to get him into the lead on lap 5. Freddy lead for the rest of the race whilst second place man, Coolbrook fell in the later stages of the race whilst trying to keep up with the hard charging leader. Freddy went on to enter the All Comers class for the Sunday which is mainly contested by 1000cc bikes but he still managed to qualify 5th but decided not to enter the actual race in favour of saving his bike and tyres for the main Formula 600 races. The last race of the weekend saw Freddy once again in a two way battle for the race win. Although freddy was putting in the quicker laps, his bikes lack of straight line speed and power made it frustratingly hard for him to find a way past the leader despite his superior efforts on the brakes and around the corners. After a last lap attempt of gaining the lead nearly ending in a highside crashing coming out of Mansfield corner, Freddy had to settle for second place, 0.18 seconds off the winner. However, with two 3rds, a 2nd and a win, Freddy finished the meeting as the top points scorer in his class and came away as the overall Winner much to the delights of him and his team. I am very pleased with how the final meeting of the year has gone. To come away winning the meeting in only my 3rd attempt at riding a 600 is really special especially when you consider I was up against faster and more competitive machinery. I hope these results have proved that I am capable of being competitive on a 600 and will help me attract the sponsors that I am desperately seeking to help me to compete in British Superbikes Junior Superstock 600 class next year,. I owe a huge thank you to Nigel at Coastline Car Sales for the loan of his bike and also to my other sponsors; Grip N Rip, C&A Superbikes and www.photobikes.com, all your help is very much appreciated

2010?
What happens in 2010 depends purely on the level of sponsorship backing I can obtain in order to achieve my ambition of competing and winning the 2010 Triumph Triple challenge. I have the determination and skills to be successful at BSB level next year. However to fulfil my potential, I am in desperate need of sponsorship to help me fund my step up from club level to national level. I am going to need to raise 15,000 in order to enter the Triumph Triple challenge championship and a further 5,000 for running costs throughout the year. (Please see separate information pack for further information on the series). Thank you for looking through my portfolio and The Triumph information pack. I hope it made some interesting reading and you enjoyed and liked what you read. Im sure youll agree that the 2010 season is going to be very exciting; the triumph series has the potential to provide huge rewards and benefits for both sponsors and my racing career. I am sure we can form a formidable partnership which will bring success to all those involved. If you feel that you may be able to help me next season in anyway, please contact me so we can discuss how we could both benefit from working together.
