GEORGE DICKEL BARREL SELECT TENNESSEE WHISKY ROLLS INTO KING + DUKE Buckhead Restaurant and Diageo Host

Launch Party with Snacks and Cocktails on October 6 ATLANTA (September 19, 2013) George Dickel Barrel Select Tennessee Whisky is rolling into King + Duke on Sunday, October 6. As the first restaurant in Georgia to be offered an exclusive barrel, King + Duke is hosting a party on the patio with the producer of George Dickel Whisky, Diageo, to celebrate. I picked this specific barrel because while it exhibits the mellow sweetness and vanilla character of George Dickel No. 12, it also has an herbaceous note to it, said Lara Creasy, beverage consultant. I could have chosen barrels with more of a smoky quality, but I wanted a whisky that would complement the dishes at all of the restaurants. From 4-7 p.m., guests can sip on a flight of George Dickel whiskys and enjoy passed bites from executive chef Joe Schafers kitchen for $8. The flight includes whisky from King + Dukes private barrel, George Dickel Old No. 8 and George Dickel Rye. Additionally, mixologists Eduardo Guzman of The Optimist and JCT. Kitchen & Bar, Clarke Anderson of No. 246 and Creasy have created a menu of specialty cocktails featuring the private barrel whisky. Following the event, the George Dickel Barrel Select Tennessee Whisky and specialty cocktails will also be available on each restaurants new fall beverage menu. Spirit experts from Georgia Crown Distributing Company and Diageo will be on hand to discuss the whisky and answer any questions.
