    Select any Two Organizations either in manufacturing or in Services sector. The selected companies can be National or multinational.One of your selected companies should be the Industry leader, whereas the other should be market follower or challenger. Study and do a detail Comparative analysis of OperationManagement in these two selected companies. How the current Management is dealing with the 5 out of 10 critical areas for any Operation, you have studied in your introductory chapters. Highlight their core competencies for managing a particular area if any. 1. What type of services or goods a selected company is offering? How do they have designed their Product or service? Does design have any impact for increasing customer retention, satisfaction? 2. How the companies are managing their quality do they have any QMS(Quality Management system) in place. How this QMS system works, if any? 3. What are the different processes that are supporting a customer to avail the companys particular product or service? Any equipment and technology that is necessary to operate these processes. 4. How the Management has arranged the facility? How large they are needed to arrange a particular facility for their operations? 5. How the management is dealing with Major supplies and managing theses supplies issues? How they are using this particular area to attain objectives? In short your project is a comparative analysis regarding Product & service deign,you would be needed to conduct a detailed interview or Survey to support findings. Your report contents should be between 2500-3000 words. Include only necessary material and avoid massive history, introduction stuff. Proper references (in text citations with complete URLs having visiting dates) are an important part of your report. Off course you can put information that you think is supporting into appendix section of your report.

    Note: Project submission deadline is 11th June 2012. Presentation Session would be arranged by instructor after submission of final reports. As you know it is always better to start work early to avoid any inconvenience.
