KEY EXPERIENCE My primary career training was in the field of Mechanical Engineering, I completed a four year Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of KwaZulu Natal (UKZN). I completed this degree in four years, and then for the following two years I continued at UKZN in research, testing, tutoring, writing, as well as attending conferences. During this time I was primarily engaged in conducting research and testing on behalf of UKZN and Denel. I also tutored and taught various subject within the mechanical engineering discipline. In addition to this I spent time preparing papers and presenting at several technical conferences around the country on the subject of Conductive secondary bonding of conductive composite materials for the aerospace industry. During my last year at UKZN, I began a Master of Philosophy degree. During the second and third year of my Master of Philosophy I worked at a local church. During these two years I was tasked with primarily overseeing the youth (from young children to 33 year old young adults), this primarily involved leadership, teaching, and speaking. In this capacity I was required to create a link between the leadership and the youth. As such I sought out, trained, and grew leaders in various capacities, as well as casting vision and developing structures in order to effectively oversee the youth related programs. During this time I was part of a leadership team that sought to lead the church as a whole, and I was regularly engaged in speaking appointments. Upon completion of my Master of Philosophy Degree I began working fulltime as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Fibre-Wound SA. In this position I primarily focus on the technical aspects of the design of fiberglass tanks, pressure vessels, ducting, piping and other equipment, predominantly using local and international design codes. I have been responsible for pipe stress analysis, and finite element analysis of out of code vessel design. A large portion of my time is spent on manufacturing project management, reviewing specifications, drawing review, design process development and training. I am responsible for the technical detailed engineering of high priority projects, the majority of my time is spent in design and analysis of pressure vessels and pipelines. The majority of this design is in accordance with international design codes, verification by modeling the proposed vessel or pipeline, and analyzing the model with use of finite element analysis and flexibility analysis tools.
