The Commonwealth Club of California Presented by Chaz Berman Established in 1903, The Commonwealth Club of California is the oldest

community forum in the nation and organizes more than 400 yearly events on a wide range of subjects. With approximately 16,000 members, The Commonwealth Club hosts significant speakers, group discussions, and gatherings in San Francisco and San Jose as well as in Lafayette in the East Bay. Additionally, the organization produces a weekly radio show, which is presented on both public and private stations throughout the country. Among its many events, The Commonwealth Club has a number of distinctive programs. Week to Week is a regular series that exams important news and features talks by journalists, academics, and political figures. The Climate One project encourages broad dialogue on environmental, energy, and climate change topics and presents influential figures from several different fields and organizations. Good Lit is a literature and memoir group that features discussions with wellknown authors, dramatists, and literary critics as well as emerging writers. The group also explores crucial issues for the literary world. Finally, INFORUM is a branch of the club for individuals in their 20s and 30s that encourages civic participation and discussion of issues especially relevant to younger people. About the Author: A successful entrepreneur, Chaz Berman is currently CEO of Growers Secret, an organic gardening and agriculture company that produces eco-friendly fertilizers and plant nutrients.
