MODERN WOODEN CONSTRUCTIONS In the contest of the new international orientations concerning the use of wood (n ‘cansirctons at the making of certain elements and stractares of modern resistance, especially those made out of lamellate glued wood, simple or reinforced, the paper . Modern Wooden Constructions" shows a major practical interes, both fronta theoretical point of view and for is -muliple applications of echniced and constructive matter. ‘After a short presentation of the history, of the advantages and disadvantages of the buildings made out of wood, physical ~ mechanical characterises of wood and of the new Products based on wood are presented as well as the bases regarding the planning and the cnleulaion of elemens with simple and composed sections, the elaboration and the calculation Of joining, the Behaviour and the calewation of lamellae glued wood elements. Further on, prefabricated houses and wooden frameworks and retinance structures are presented, insisting (on the efficient wood and meta structures and on simple and reinforced latellate glued wood. ‘The paper was elaborated on the basis ofa rich bibliography ofthe results of rerearch and ‘experience i the wood constructions fleld, inside and ouside the counry, some of the author's ‘wm research being mentioned too. The paper contains as well numerous figures and a ‘comprehensive graphic and itustative material rick nsketche, solutions and detalls concerning the bung ofthe elements and the siructures of restance made out of wood.
