Abstract
This project proposes two techniques of measuring
mealy bug populations using image transformation and
neural network.

The first technique is for measuring

populations of adult powdery mealy bugs.

This white

powdery color makes distinguishable between the bugs

and the surroundings.

The second technique is for

measuring populations of nymph mealy bugs.

The nymph

mealy bugs have a brownish color which is similar to the

surroundings.
have

95%

From our experiments, the two techniques

and

75%

accuracy,

respectively.
