Sufijos
Los sufijos se clasifican en flexivos e inflexivos: Inflexivos: Ocupan siempre la posicin final de la palabra y la informacin que ofrecen es de tipo gramatical, (gnero, nmero, persona, modo etc). Hay ocho tipos de sufijos inflexivos: Sufijo inflexivo -ed (pasado o pretrito verbal) -ed/ -en (participio pasado verbal) -s/ -es (3ra.Persona singular en presente simple.) -ing (Presente participio) -er (adjetivo comparativo) -est (adjetivo superlativo) -s/ -es (plural) -s (posesivo anglosajn) Ejemplo The engineer discovered a well He looked for chance The engineer has discovered a well They have written the essays He discovers a well She does her work He is working in a new shaft They have been studying the theory He is smaller than her The thicker book is mine He is the smallest of all She has the highest grade The scientists developed some methods The scientist used two new approaches Johns technique is very interesting They broke the tables legs

Flexivos: muestran las diversas posibilidades o flexiones de una palabra. Son modificadores de la clase o categora gramatical de algunas palabras: Clase o categora gramatical (Sufijo flexivo) Sustantivo ( -ence, -ance, -or, -er, -ment, -list, -ism, -ship, -ency, -sion, -tion,-ness, -hood, -dom) Verbo (-ify, -en, -ate, -ize) Adjetivo (-ous,-y, -ful, -ic,-ish, -ary,-ive,-able, -less, -tial, -ible) Adverbio (-ly, -wise, -ward) Ejemplo The attendance was very numerous They act with a great determination Your friendship is important for me Those gases originate the contamination They realize the problem His work is very dangerous Her careful movement was useless The truck moved sidewise They ran fastly
