Over all convention similarities

They all have a main image Both have columns on the left hand side with page numbers and articles Middle and the right have a contents title on it They all have issue dates Underneath the article name it explains the content of them They all have subheadings in the contents page to split up articles into similar sections The left and the right contents page include the masthead at the top of the page whereas the middle one doesnt All have certain colour scheme depending on genre Negative space always even spacing

Sub genre convention differences

Have different colour schemes/ house styles- the left and right use dark colours and the one in the middle uses bright colours (rock, dance, rock) Left contents page has a pull quote Left contents pages only has one image whilst the others have other images to like with the article They all use different typography Right cover has a pug 1st one has a pull quote relating to the image Numbering is more specific and stylised on the middle contents page House style and colour link with the main image Layout organisation says a lot about the style
