On Turning Ten

The Poem On Turning Ten, by Billy Collins disperses a lot of ideas and her sentences are really poised, it describes the what is real and how he is feeling about himself, in its body is included 5 Stanzas each from 4 to 9 lines, metaphors and hyperbole. An metaphor that I identified At four I was an Arabian wizard, in this sentence shows that he can dream or be who he wants and this also shows in this sentence in the same Stanza At seven I was a soldier, at nine a prince, two metaphors that are a lot effective in this Stanza for being so impossible to be true, but he can still be that and he knows that in the real world he cant. The Stanza that I chose that relates to me is the second one; I think that Stanza is related to me because sometimes I put myself in another world, thinking that I belong there, but then I see the real world and how it is really working, sadly I cant be what I want to. That Stanza I chose relates well in overall poem (theme), it is related to sadness and real world that the main character is going through and that is what the message that whole poem talks about since the first Stanza.
