Examples:
1) I think beavers are amazing animals. (Simple Present – Happening now)

2) I left home on July 24. (Simple Past – Already happened)

3) I was packing for my canoe trip. (Past Continuous – Already happened, but it
was happening when something else happened)

4) I am shopping for more supplies now. (Present Continuous – A continuing action


happening now)

5) Have you finished yet?


=> Present Perfect Tense (have finished is an action that has started in the past but
is still going on now)

Adverbs

Adverbs of Manner (How)


• Describes how an action is done. E.g The baby is sleeping soundly.

Adverbs of Time (When)


• Describes the time of the action. E.g The train is leaving soon.

Adverb of Frequency (How often)


• Describes how often an action takes place. E.g I have never been to the zoo.
