ATES National Board are glad to announce the Annual National Convention which will take place on December 6th and 7th, 2013 at CESAG, Dakar over the topic of Technology, Quality and Performance in the Language Class. Call for Papers Dear Fellow practitioners, Two fundamental requirements have inspired our choice of this topic. On the one hand, as our educational community standing on the threshold of a new education policy PAQUET (Projet dAmlioration de la Qualit de lEducation pour Tous), has just made its farewells to PDEF (Programme Decennal de lEducation et de la Formation), there comes out an ever-growing need for quality in education that should meet the challenge of a harmonious economic and social development. On the other hand, despite the digital divide hitting developing nations, the unprecedented breakthrough of communication technologies has doomed Education to relevant changes in order to be equal to the task of shaping the modern person facing the challenges of the information age. In fact, this very challenge befalls both teacher and learner. Finnochiaro has no doubt that computers cant replace the teacher, but is definitely positive that computer literate teachers will increasingly replace tech timid teachers. In this invitation for presentations and workshops, we expect practitioners to share their experiences through modern classroom practicalities. We mean pedagogically effective and beneficial activities for both learner and teacher. Please submit your proposal abstracts according to the following protocol. Abstracts Guidelines Length 200 -250 words Format: Workshop Deadline for Submission: October 31st
