Think It, Design It. A Guide for Designing an Invention (Engineering) Think of a problem or area youve noticed needs improvement. Or, consider an area that interests you, something that makes you wonder and ask questions. Use the space below to either describe the problem or area needing improvement. Or, explain your area of interest. Ask a question to help understand how you can solve the problem or find out how you can apply the area of interest in a different and innovative way.hi there Keep your ideas in a Google docs in our shared science folder. OR Ask. Predict. Test. A Guide for Designing an Experiment Think of a problem or area youve noticed needs improvement. Or, consider an area that interests you, something that makes you wonder and ask questions. Use the space below to either describe the problem or area needing improvement. Purpose: (ask a question to help understand how you can solve the problem) ** Remember: An experiment manipulates variables. Before you begin, consider the data you will collect and identify the the independent dependent variable. (to determine the variables, decide which you would plot on the x-axis (independent) and the y-axis (dependent) of a graph. An independent variable is the variable that is changed in a scientific experiment to test the effects on the dependent variable. A dependent variable is the variable being tested in a scientific experiment. The dependent variable is 'dependent' on the independent variable. As the experimenter changes the independent variable, the change in the dependent variable is observed and recorded. Keep your ideas in a Google docs in our shared science folder.
