USING EXCEL TO MODEL EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS Task 6 The table contains the results from an investigation into pendulums.

Your task is to find out if there is a relationship between the length of the pendulum string (L) and the time taken for one complete swing (it's period T). Plot a graph of the results and explain what the graph tells you.

Mathematics can be used to produce an equation for the time for one swing (period T) of a pendulum on the Earth's surface.

The equation shows that T is proportional to the square root of L. Add a column to your table and calculate the values of the square root of L. Plot a graph of T against the square root of L. Does it produce a straight line?
