In 1962- He came back to India on grandmothers insistence and joined the TATA Group. In 1971- Ratan Tata was appointed the Directorin-charge of The National Radio & Electronics Company Limited. In 1981- Ratan Tata was named director of Tata Industries, the Groups other holding company. In 1991- He took over as Tata group Chairman from J.R.D. Tata. In 1998- Tata Motors introduced his brainchild, the Tata Indica. In 2009- The cheapest cost car was launched named as Tata Nano. In 2012- Ratan Tata retired from Tata Group.
