Abstract
Thesis Title : The degree of Teachers Participation in schools decision-making . ( field study from
the viewpoint of secondary school teachers in Taif Governorate ) .

Thesis objectives :
1- Identify the degree of teachers participation in school decision-making relating to student affairs ,
Teachers, Curricula and methods of implementation, Local Community, School facilities and
Financial matters .
2- Finding out the statistic significance differences between the average of teachers' participation in
making school decisions according to the study variables (Scientific Qualification, its type as well
as experience years) .

Thesis methodology : descriptive survey method is used in the study .

Thesis participants : Participants consisted of all public Secondary Schools Teachers
in Taif Governorate. They are (1031) teachers (380) were chosen randomly sampling method, where
the questionnaires are handed and delivered from them; of which (354) were approved for statistical
analysis, which is estimated (34%) from the original participants .

Thesis tool : a questionnaire with 46 item resolved around the study objectives .
Statistical Methods used : to analyze the study data, the descriptive statistics which is
represented in finding out the averages, standard deviations, percentages as well as the analytical
statistics which are represented in analyzing the ANOVA and Chive's Test .
The most important results of the study :
The most important study results summarized in the following :
1- It is apparent that the degree by which the teachers participate in school decision making (with
all its five domains) was low; with arithmetic average 2.44
2- It becomes apparent that the degree by which teachers participate in school decision making
relating to the students affairs was medium except for one item which was low; this item
measures the scientific visits for the students .
3- There are significant differences ( = 0.05) between the averages of teachers participation in
school decision making relating to the student affairs . There were because of the experience
years' variable for the teachers who are more than 15 years experience .

The most important recommendations of the study :

The most important recommendations are summarized in the following:
1- It is necessary that teachers should participate in the school decision making relating to the
students, teachers curriculum affairs as well as teaching methodology, in addition to the local
community, school facilities and financial matters .
2- Promote positive attitudes among managers towards the participation of teachers in school
decision-making .
