Focus skill: Reading Theme: World of Stories Topic : Ah Meng and The Crocodile Learning standard: 2.2.2 Able to read and understand phrases and sentences in linear and non-linear texts. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to: sequence 6/8 simple and compound sentences correctly to form a story. CCE / Educational Emphases: : Multiple Intelligence Teaching aids: A giant picture puzzle (crocodile), sentences strips Activities: 1. Set Induction: Pupils arrange a picture puzzle in groups of 5. 2. Pre-reading: Pupils listen to the story from the CD. 3. Pupils play musical bowl to answer some questions based on the stories that they are listening. 4. While reading: Pupils read the story as a whole. 5. Post-reading: Pupils sequence the sentences strips from an envelope in groups. 6. Closure: Pupils present their work and teacher corrects where necessary.
