Carolino 2012 59026 Professor Benjamin Mangubat PI 100 The Life and Works of Rizal Outline of an existing Short Story, The Late Summer Rain The story revolves around two teenagers, Ryan and Dannie, from high school who have always been going to the same schools since elementary but havent actually met because theyre from different cliques. But when Ryan chose to pull out of his popular group of friends, he was left alone and Dannie soon decided to make friends with him. Summer came and the two got closer together. They spent the whole summer watching the sun rise, having watermelon contests, picking up red roses at the nearby garden shop, watching the comets fly, placing messages in a bottle, joining singing contests, and riding cruises. They had the best summer together, and slowly as the days passed, they fell in love with each other. But what Dannie thought to be a wonderful start of summer, ended tragically for both of them. Accidentally knowing about Ryans secret of him having a lethal brain tumor, all her dreams and hopes for the two of them came crashing down. She had nothing else to do but to spend the last days of their summer caring for Ryan for his body couldnt respond medications and treatments anymore. A year had gone by after Ryan left, but the image of him walking towards her stayed in her heart forever. A year-long of mourning finally ended and Dannie soon decided to move on after receiving and reading Ryans final message for her that was sent from a bottle. Plot graph of the story:
