ABSTRACT

Animation is the rapid display of a sequence of static images and/or objects to create an illusion of movement. The most common method of presenting animation is as a motion picture or video program. Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC) is the high-end 3D Animation & VFX education brand of Aptech. Through its wide network of centres, MAAC has prepared thousands of students for careers in Animation, VFX, Filmmaking, Gaming, Web and Graphics Design. To make students aware and to promote MAAC as the animation destination, project MAAC is in the process of developing an interactive website. The website is intended to house all animation related information, courses and career opportunities, enabling multiple users the opportunity to access this information in formats that best satisfy their specific interests, preferences, and needs. To initiate the development process, project MAAC has begun laying a foundation for the website by (1) establishing expectations, (2) reviewing web design literature and project relevant websites, and (3) acquiring user-specific inputs. The next phase in the developmental process is to physically create a draft of the website. Once a draft is produced, a series of focus groups composed of potential users will be organized to test and evaluate the website in an effort to finalize its design and functionality.
