High-level Panel discussion on

Taking Action against the Gender-related Killings of Women and Girls

This high-level side event will focus on the adoption by the General Assembly of the resolution agreed at the 22nd session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice on fighting impunity against gender-related killings of women and girls or femicides. The panel discussion will draw attention to effective programmes to stop femicides, including: improved methods of investigation, prosecution, and punishment of the perpetrators, awareness raising, and the introduction of new legislation.
