In HES 559, I have been able to learn many things from Glen Roseboom about the sport industry.

I have learned techniques to manage, hire, and fire staff for a company. I have also learned a lot about the Olympics and what all is incorporated in bidding and executing successful events. I have really enjoyed this class, and I look forward to our presentation at the end of the semester to try and prove that our city (Anchorage, AK) should win the Olympic bid for the 2026 Winter Olympics.

In HES 565, I have learned about law relating to the sport industry. Mr. Reuben Cook has allowed our class to enter into deep discussions on past and present legal issues within the industry. I have learned about the incident at Penn State and what the Compliance Department at The University of Alabama had to do as repercussions of the event. I have also been able to research and write about a specific case, ACC vs Maryland, and present my findings to our class. Learning from past cases can help us prevent issues in the future.

In HES 561, I have learned about many aspects related to marketing. I really enjoy marketing, so this class has been both very beneficial and enjoyable to me. I have learned about ticketing, sales, corporate sponsorship, and many other elements related to marketing. In this class, we have a group project where we present a sales pitch to choose our product. We are researching different elements that the new baseball facility at The University of Alabama may utilize to enhance fan interaction and generate more revenue.
