2. Objectives 1. Students will demonstrate understanding of basic properties of objects and their own 5 senses. 3. Introductory Activities 2. Students will be engaged as they eat pumpkin cookies and actively participate in the read aloud, Pumpkin Fever. 4. Developmental Activities 3. Students will work in small groups to compare and contrast apples and pumpkins. They will use a Venn diagram to do this. 5. Culminating Activities 4. Students will work within small groups to complete Pumpkin Science activity which reviews the 5 senses: seeing, smelling, hearing, smelling, tasting. 5. Students will record their findings from Venn diagram activity and Pumpkin Science activity in their Science Journals.

6. Assessment (Evaluation of the days objectives/ assessing students learning.) 1. Students will be evaluated on their participation in small group activities. 7. Modifications for Special Needs 8. Modifications will be made as necessary according to IEPs or sight/behavior problems.
