Coin Grading

Coin grading is a very subjective process with some guidelines to help make the right grading. Every coin is different and has a different set of designs on the obverse and reverse sides. Good grading takes account of these designs and references them when describing the different grades of a specific coin. Never clean a coin to make it look better, as cleaning lowers the value of a coin substantially. Coins also can naturally tone and these toning are often considered very attractive on a coin. Toned coins often make the coin more desirable and more valuable.
