SIGNALS AND SYSTEMS

Course Outcome: 1) A comprehensive understanding of signals and systems. 2) A comprehensive understanding of linear time-invariant systems and their representations and classify systems based on their properties: in particular, understand and exploit the implications of linearity, time-invariance, causality, memory and bounded-input, bounded-out (BIBO) stability. 3) A comprehensive understanding of the Fourier representation of signals in all its forms, discrete and continuous. 4) Basic applications of the Fourier transform and understand how to interpret and plot Fourier transform magnitude and phase functions. 5) A comprehensive understanding of the Laplace transforms. 6) A comprehensive understanding of the z-transform. 7) A basic understanding of sampling theory.
