Genre means a category artistic composition, as in music, characterized by

similarities in form, style or subject of matter. An example of a music magazine for this would be Top of the pops.

Sub-Genre is a category which has been dived from a large genre e.g. Dance,
Hip-Hop, Retro/Classic rock, Rock, Indie. These are all genres of music but they have their own sub-genre category. An example of a music magazine for dance would be mix mag.

Hybrid Genre can otherwise be known as a cross genre and its a genre in
fiction that blends themes and elements from two or more different genres together, for example indie-rock or music and fashion, these two genres have been put together to make one genre. An example of this genre would be NME.
