REGISTRATION
Performed by a regulatory body(professional association or state board) Administers exams and maintains a current list registry of qualified personnel Ex: registered dietician, registered respiratory therapist, registered radiologic technologist

LICENSURE
Government agency authorizes individuals to work in a given occupation Varies from state to state Must complete educational program, pass a state board exam, maintain standards Ex: physician, dentist, physical therapist, registered nurse, licensed practical/vocationsl nurse

CEUS

Continuing education units (CEUs)


Required

to renew license or maintain certification or registration Must obtain additional hours of education during a specific period of time
