Attitude is a state of mind with a tendency to feel and behave in a particular way towards objects, people or events.
Cognitive Dissonance : It is any incompatibility between two or more attitudes or between behaviour and attitudes.
Festinger said that any form of inconsistency is uncomfortable and that individual will attempt to reduce the dissonance and the desire to reduction of dissonance depends upon 1. Importance of the elements creating the dissonance. 2. Degree of influence the individual believes he/she has over the elements. 3. Rewards maybe involved with dissonance.
