Job Description Rotating Equipment Engineer 1.0 Purpose: Job Descriptions are part of Company Quality Policies and Procedures. This standard defines the tasks and responsibilities of Rotating Equipment Engineers. 2.0 General: A Rotating Equipment Engineer is expected to be adequately qualified regarding rotating equipment as to be able to develop specifications for design and procurement of rotating equipment by applying the applicable international codes, standards and/or project specific standards

3.0 Tasks and Responsibilities: The Rotating Equipment Engineer shall be responsible for the following: Developing basic design, detailed engineering and procurement related activities of Rotating Equipment/packages such as pumps, compressors, blowers, and refrigeration units. Developing rotating equipment specifications and commissioning guidelines for the equipment. Providing rotating equipment information throughout the various proposal, engineering and construction phases to the project team. Provide the technical expertise to assist in achieving accuracy in project piping and instrumentation drawings (P&IDs). Within the latitude permitted by his position, preventing the overrunning of rotating equipment budgets, both in manpower terms and purchased equipment costs on assigned projects. Issuing requests for quotations, purchase specifications, bid evaluations, and purchase requisitions. Reviewing and approving vendor documentation for rotating equipment on assigned projects. Participating in inspections and testing of equipment as required. Participating in equipment check-out and commissioning as required.

BS in engineering, BSME or BSChE preferred. Professional engineering registration preferred. Minimum three years experience in a process oriented, E/C Company or in an operating company with project equipment engineering duties.

Working knowledge of International Codes and Standards. Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office software, Lotus Notes and other Company and discipline specific software applications. Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company.

7.0 Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. The employee must frequently climb to heights of 200 feet.
