    Solution: From the free body diagram, R1-P1-P2+R2=0 Or, R1 +R2=P1+P2=4500+ =6750----------------(1)

    As the body is rigidly fixed so total elongation is zero ( or + =0

    or, + =0 or, + or, 2R1- R2 = 4500------------------------------(2) From the equation (1) and (2) we get 2R1- (6750-R1) = 4500 Or, R1=3750N And putting this value in equation (1) we get R2= 3000N
