Health, Ministry of Agriculture, in support of the Technical Assistance
component of the European Union funded project, Improving and integrating Animal Health Services in the Livestock Value Chain through
Public : Private Dialogue is seeking applications from a suitably qualified Veterinarian to prepare a translation of Draft Legislation into Amharic.
Experience required: Minimum of 10 years of professional experience
in Government Veterinary service with at least 5 years holding a senior
position not lower than Director of Case Team, as well as:
An excellent understanding of the functions of the Veterinary
Services of Ethiopia together with experience in enforcement and implementation of Veterinary legislation would be a distinct advantage.
Demonstrated ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team of
experts;
Excellent knowledge of the English and Amharic languages;
Familiarity with MS Word essential;
Excellent organisational, planning and communication skills

INVITATION TO BID
The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) invites wax sealed bid from eligible, qualified
contractors of WWGC-5 and above with license valid for the current year and registration
certificate from the Ministry of Water Resources for furnishing the necessary labor, materials
and equipment for the construction and completion of Sebunte earth dam project, in Moyale
woreda, of Borena Zone, in Oromiya National Region State. Bidders should attach VAT
registration certificate.
1. Interested eligible bidders can purchase a complete set of bidding document against
a non-refundable payment of ETB 200.00 (Two Hundred ) from Ethiopian Red Cross
Society National Head Quarters Procurement Division office; Addis Ababa, Telephone
Number 011-5-54-94-71.
2. Bidders should submit Wax Sealed bids containing financial and technical proposals
(original and copy for both) separately to ETHIOPIAN RED CROSS SOCIETY,
National Head Quarters, Addis Ababa.
3. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of 2% of the total bid value in an
acceptable form (CPO) prepared in the name of Ethiopian Red Cross Society.
4. Bid will be closed on the 10th working day of this Announcement at 12:00Am local time

or their legal representatives at ERCS Head Quarter in Addis Ababa. If the 10th day

Job Purpose:
The Technical Officer will provide technical support and advice to Concerns Health and Nutrition
activities in the south including preventive nutrition components and the new ECHO project to ensure that the programme is implemented adhering to international standards and quality.
Main duties & Responsibilities:
Programme Development
Ensure that the programme activities are compliant as outlined by the National Ethiopian
Government nutrition guidelines and policies.
Ensure that Concerns Health and Nutrition projects deliver high quality programming.
Oversee and advise on the integration of IYCF into CMAM/ PSNP, introducing complementary
food production, introducing micro-nutrient initiatives through different approaches and other
prevention programmes.
Support the implementation of childhood prevention communicable disease strategy and reproductive health issues in the programme areas
Participate in assessing capacity of health facilities and developing appropriate strategy to
address the gaps.
Facilitate, monitor and evaluate prevention of moderate acute malnutrition and stunting, childhood and other common diseases.
Support in identifying key management, technical and operational capacity needs in the field
of health and nutrition for MoH staff at Woreda and Zonal level and provide technical support
in appropriate capacity building measures, as required.
Participate in Concerns nutrition surveys/ assessments, coverage surveys, etc. and ensure
that they adhere to both national and international guidelines and protocols.
Facilitate information sharing and lessons learned across the programme areas through all
feasible means, including review meetings/ regional workshops, experience sharing visits and
document sharing.
Forge and maintain good information flow and collaboration between Concerns nutrition survey team, the MoH, nutrition coordination fora and the relevant regional government authorities e.g. the DMFSS/ ENCU/ Nutrition Technical Working Group, etc.
Monitoring and reporting
In coordination with the Project Managers/ Programme Managers, support programme monitoring and documentation and timely reporting to ensure effective programme implementation
and evaluation of programme impact.

Essential:
Education
Masters degree or Bachelors degree in public health, nutrition, nursing or other related fields of study with minimum three and six years relevant experience respectively
in an emergency and development context.
Experience
Profound knowledge and experience of the CMAM (Community Management of Acute
Malnutrition) approach for treatment of malnutrition as well as programmes addressing
prevention of acute malnutrition.
Good analytical, monitoring and evaluation skills and the ability to write good quality
reports in English.
Excellent networking, representation and coordination skills NGOs, UN and government agencies.
Flexible, reliable, culturally sensitive and with the ability to work in teams/ isolated situation and stressful environments and under pressure meeting deadlines.
Demonstrates initiative and is able to work with minimal supervision.
