IMPORTANA EXERCIIULUI FIZIC N TRATAMENTUL CITOPATIILOR MITOCONDRIALE Mircea MOLDOVAN Masterand, UVT, FEFS, Recuperare Fizic i Kinetoprofilaxie, an I Citopatia

Scopul articolului este de a releva importanta exercitiului fizic in tratarea disfunctiilor mitocondriale, precum si in profilaxia complicatiilor acestora. Cuvinte cheie: citopatie mitocondriala, disfunctie, tratament, exercitiul fizic.

Mitochindrial cytopathy is a multisystem disorder due to genetic or biochemical mitochondrial defects that manifest by deterioration of the nervous and muscular system, having an energy dependent activity resulting from oxidative phosphorylation process. Mitochondrial dysfunction was first described by Rolf Luft, a Norwegian scientist, in the 60 '. Since then it has been given more attention to the mitochondrial defects and the mitochondrial cytopathy name. Since 1981, when the mitochondrial genome sequence was elucidated, there were discovered over 200 pathological phenotypes of mitochondria. Despite remarkable progress in the last 20 years regarding study of genetics and biochemistry of mitochondrial dysfunction, treatment did not materialize to ensure regression of symptoms, so finding a cure has become a challenge for the scientific community. Symptomatic treatment includes from drugs and supplements to surgery. One of the symptoms that affects daily life of the ailing is fatigue, so the questions is wether exercise is recomanded or not and in what measure in order to avoid complications of the disease or a sedentary lifestyle. Paper aims to reveal the importance of exercise training in mitochondrial dysfunctions and prevention of their complications.
