IMMUNE SYSTEM

Immune system
Interaction of antigen and antibody is immune system. Immune system provides protection to the body.

ANTIGEN
An antigen is a substance which stimulates an immune response. When exposed to an antigen, the body views it as foreign material, and takes steps to neutralize the antigen. Typically, the body accomplishes this by making antibodies

ANTIBODY
An antibody is a large Y-shaped protein used by the immune system to identify and neutralize foreign objects like bacteria and viruses.

Cells of immune system

Cells of immune system are antibodies. They are B- cells and T- cells. These cells are lymphocytes. When the body is invaded by the foreign substance i.e., antigen ,B- cells and Tcells interact with the antigens and destroy them.

FUNTIONS
The immune system is a system of biological structures and processes within an organism that protects against disease. To function properly, an immune system must detect a wide variety of agents, from viruses to parasitic worms, and distinguish them from the organism's own healthy tissue.

The immune system is made up of a complex and vital network of cells and organs that protect the body from infection. immune system has an incredibly difficult task in doing this because these pathogens can redesign themselves and adapt to changes.
