The study of living things and how they interact with one another and their physical environment (climate, water, soil).

Species the dierent kinds of organisms found on the Earth. Popula,on comprises all the individuals of a given species in a specic area at a certain Eme. Communi,es all the populaEons in a specic area or region at a certain Eme. A community that has a high diversity is more complex and stable than one that has a low diversity.

Ecosystems
Ecosystem is much smaller than a biome. They can be as large as the Sahara Desert, or as small as a puddle. No ecosystem can carry more living things than its food, water, and shelter can accommodate. Ecosystems will fail if they do not remain in balance. Each organism has its own niche, or role, to play.
