The topics of chapter 8 are aggression, coercive action, and anger. 1. Compare and contrast these three concepts. How are they alike? How are they different? 2. What types of motivators contribute to each behavior? b) Below are links to a series of three articles about genetics and arousal violent behavior in particular. You are able to read the article or listen to it on the NPR website. (Actually, if you go to one article and scroll down there are links to the other articles in the series.) http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=127888976&sc=emaf http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=128116806&sc=emaf http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=128043329&sc=emaf Read or listen to the articles then respond to the following: 1. Compare the information in the articles to Frankens discussion of the biological component of Aggression. Explain how they are consistent with each other and how they differ. 2. Given the theory that aggression in some people may be largely affected by genetics, explain how the learned and cognitive components may also affect the affected persons aggressive behavior.
