बगलूर ि थत भारतीय ताराभौितक सं थान, देश का एक मुख सं थान है, जो खगोल, ताराभौितक
व संबं$ िव%ान एवं ौ&ोिगक के शोधकाय( हेतु सम)पत है। सं थान के फ-ड टेशन तिमलनाडु म कावलूर
तथा कौडेकनाल, कना(टक म गौरीिबदनूर तथा होसकोटे एवं ज0मू व क1मीर के लेह तथा हा2ले म ि थत ह3।
सं थान ने देश म उपयु5 थान पर आधुिनक बृहत सौर दूरदथ8 थािपत करने हेतु प9रयोजना ारंभ :कया है।
यह सं थान मेधावी तथा बु$ उ0मीदवार; को ताराभौितकय अनुसध
ं ान तथा यं=ीकरण संबंधी
िश?ण दान करता है।

TRAINEE PROGRAMME-2009

The Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA), Bangalore, is a premier national Institute

in the country dedicated to research in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Allied Sciences &
Tecnology. The Institute has field stations at Kavalur and Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu,
Gauribidanur & Hosakote in Karnataka, and Leh & Hanle in J&K. The Institute has
embarked on a project to set up a modern large solar telescope at a suitable location in the
country.

The Institute offers training in Astrophysical research and instrumentation to bright young and
motivated candidates.

Applications are invited for Trainee Programme-2009 from fresh candidates with the following
qualifications who are highly motivated to pursue their research career.

QUALIFICATIONS : First Class M.Sc / M.Phil (Physics /

Astronomy / Astrophysics / Optical Sciences)

First Class BE/B.Tech (Information

Technology, Computer Science, Electronics
and
Communication, Electrical, Instrumentation
and Mechanical).

AGE LIMIT : Below 25 years

TRAINING PERIOD : Initially for a period of One Year &

extendable for Second year

STIPEND : Rs.10000/- plus Admissible HRA

The selected candidates will generally be placed at the field stations of IIA. The trainee
programme is not a regular employment and does not entitle any privileges or benefits of regular
employment at the Institute. It is only a temporary study programme for imparting training.
