To investigate the relationship between length of a simple pendulum and period of the of oscillation

Inference:
The period of pendulum is affected by the length of the thread.

Hypothesis:
The longer the length of a simple pendulum, the longer will be the period of oscillation

Aim:

To investigate the relationship between length of a simple pendulum and the square of its period of oscillation

Variable: Manipulated variable: The length,l Responding variable : Period, T Constant variable:Mass of pendulum bob, m

Apparatus and material

Retort stand, pendulum bob, sting(thread), metre rule, stop watch.

Procedure:

1.The apparatus was set up as shown in figure. 2.The length of thread,l was measured by a metre rule, starting with 20.0 cm. The bob of the pendulum was displaced and released. 3.The time for 20 complete oscillation, t was taken using stopwatch. Calculate the period t of oscillation by using T

5.The experiment was repeated using different of lengths, l =40.0 cm, 60.0 cm, 80.0 cm and 90.0 cm.
