VETERINARY STUDENTS BRING LAURELS TO THE STATE---BAGGED FIRST PRIZE IN ZONAL LEVEL QUIZ COMPETITION Two veterinary students,

namely Sheikh Firdous Ahmad & Waseem Akram Malla, brought aurels to the state of J&K by bagging first prize in north zone physiology quiz competition held on 26.10.2013 at DGCN College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, CSK HPKV, Palampur, HP. Society of Animal Physiologists of India (SAPI) from last few years is organising quizzes & conferences to nurture young minds of veterinary society mainly the veterinary students. This year also, they took an initiative in this regard by organising the quiz programme. This whole process starts at the institutional level. Students first have to compete at the institutional level (college level) & a team of two students is to be selected to participate at the zonal level competition (4 zones being North, South, East, West). Accordingly two students were selected at the institutional level namely Sheikh Firdous Ahmad of 4th year, BVSc & AH and Waseem Akram Malla of 5th year, BVSc & AH; here at Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry (FVSc & AH), SKUAST-K for the zonal level competition to be held on 26.10.2013 at DGCN College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, CSK HPKV, Palampur, HP. The students performed well & bagged first position at the zonal level & got selected for National Level Competition to be held on 19 November, 2013 at college of veterinary sciences & animal husbandry (CVSc&AH) Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan Vishwavidyalaya, Mathura, UP. The team was backed efficiently by the honourable dean of faculty & all faculty members. They had to compete with all the prestigious veterinary colleges of the north zone. We wish the two students the best of luck.
