Comenius Trip to Gran Canaria

The Canary Islands

The Canary Islands are a group of islands off the north west coast Africa, approximately 100 kilometres from Morocco. The major islands are Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Tenerife, Lanzarote, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro.

The children welcomed us by singing If Youre Happy and You Know It in Spanish.

We were presented with badges made by the children.

We looked all around the school.

We visited classrooms.

The children were pleased to show us their work.

The children presented information and a play.

We saw lots of interesting displays.

The Once Upon An Island Reading Challenge.

The Comenius teachers had a meeting to plan what we will do in our schools.

We went to the CEP Las Palmas Teacher Training Centre.

We learnt how to share information through Twinspace, and found out about education in different countries.

We stayed in Las Palmas, close to the beach.
