To create an individualized education for specific students it would first be necessary to get to know the level at which a student

can perform and which of the developmental assets each student can call upon. It also depends on the size of the class whether or not individualizing activities and lessons is even possible. One thing that most school do is take advantage of programs like Accelerated Reader, students take a test at the beginning of the year to see which reading level they belong to. I think in elementary schools grouping students who are at the same level helps with individualized learning process for most students. I do not remember doing anything other than accelerated reading when I was in school and do not really recall much of anything being done in middle or high school. I do think it is important to incorporate individualized learning in to as many lessons as possible because these are ways the students learn best. I believe the best way to incorporate these assets would be to have several levels to each assignment. For example if I was teaching a lesson on plants, I would have one group do research and present, another write about what they learned and present, and maybe have another create a piece of art. By doing this you are taking in to account each students strengths and weaknesses and working with them. By doing this you are setting them up and motivating them to succeed and helping them become prepared for the next grade level.
