We are trying to figure out a way to rank students that deals with their qualities not their grades. We came up with a list of 19 characteristics we thought described the perfect students. We had other people add characteristics to our list just in case we were missing anything. We wanted to see what others thought were important so we took a convenience sample of our class. Student Rankings
We did a sample of the class to see how they ranked themselves on our perfect student scale. Each question they answered about themselves was on a scale of 1 to 5. The answer they gave to each question was averaged in order to find their rank. We found our average number by weighing the top 5 characteristics.
