Unmoving There it stands, unmoving and unchanged And the background shifts and moves The temperature peaks

and dips But it stays the same It still stays there, unmoving and unchanged And little girls and boys often play there Animals have taken shelter there But it does not move Through the years it remains, unmoving, unchanged And it is kicked and cut and sadly bruised And its often picked on and abused But it never wavers You can see it on that hill, unmoving and unchanged And its leaves desert it, riding off on the wind And alone, it sits through the cold But it doesnt grow bitter At the same spot it endures, unmoving, unchanged And it waits patiently, without despair And the time slowly ticks on But still it lives Once on a hill it stood. unmoving and unchanged And little girls and boys played there And animals took shelter there But it didnt flinch Once on a hill it stood, unmoving and unchanged its leaves deserted it, rode off on the wind And alone, it sat through the cold But it didnt grow bitter Once on a hill it stood, unmoving and unchanged And it was kicked and cut and sadly bruised And it was often picked on and abused But it never wavered Once on a hill it stood, unmoving and unchanged And it suffered, grew tiresome and weary And withered down with age But never did it move
