What I notice

Thoughts, Questions, Connections to Methods Classes Drawing what they saw allows students to connect this new knowledge and helps them remember what they saw.

To open lesson, students reviewed what they had learned with the minerals being inside rocks. They observed a sample of granite and drew what they saw.

The students then had questions to answer from the book and their reading. Each question must be written in complete sentences.

This method could easily discourage the enthusiasm with science for students. Having the students complete the questions in complete sentences allows students to integrate writing into science.

Students have science journals, they take notes

Integrating technology is a great way to

in them, draw pictures of experiments that have connect to students; this is what they are done. Students are also able to research using IPads and computers topics related to the subject they are going over. Many students look up information on rocks and minerals. growing up with to use at home. Love the science journals, this allows students to keep their notes in one place.
